The State of Abortion in Malaysia

Abortion can be done in Malaysia under some circumstances, according to the Penal Code. However, the access to safe abortion in Malaysia is still limited due to personal values of the medical practitioners.

Abortion laws in Malaysia state that a woman can have an abortion if there is a risk to her life or a threat of injury to her physical or mental health. But, Magdalene.co wrote that many medical practitioners do not know about it so many women had been turned down to the access of safe abortion.

Malaysia also has not approved the Misoprostol and Mifepristone to be distributed in the country. Women who are in need to do medical abortion have to find it in the black market which might be not trusted.

Women in Malaysia still can contact the local WhatsApp Hotline to find more information about safe abortion.

Additional info: Women on Web can be one of the options as well.
